If you're getting tired of Windows, ready for a change, something fresh and new, willing to learn new ways of doing things you'll likely very much enjoy a switch to a Mac. Even when compared to the last XP box I built which has been a great system. Everyone must realize it is still a computer and there will still likely be issues to deal with. Whether it is 'better' is really subjective. (The above does not include time spent fixing friends Windows machines.)
