If you like to read books on many devices, or prefer to browse for new titles on your computer, stick with the OverDrive app for now. If you use one iOS or Android device to browse, download, and read or listen to digital books, we recommend trying Libby. Libby is new, and doesn’t yet have all of the features that the OverDrive app does, such as the ability to recommend titles for purchase or robust accessibility features. It also allows for transfer to MP3 players from computers. OverDrive is the “classic” app, and is compatible with more devices, including Kindle Fire, Macs, PCs, and Windows mobile devices. Libby is great if you just want to download a book to your Android or iOS phone or tablet. Libby is compatible with Android and iOS devices, and OverDrive is working on and app for Kindle Fire/HD devices. Libby is a fast and attractive digital browsing experience. It has the same collection of titles as the OverDrive app - it’s just a different way to access the same digital library collection. Tap Notify Me to tag titles and be notified if they are added to the library’s collection in the future. If you run a search that returns fewer than 100 results, you can tap the filter button to manually enable “deep search.įrom the expanded search, you will see relevant results with a Notify Me option.
If no results are found, Libby will automatically expand into a “deep search” to display relevant titles that are not yet in our collection. In Libby, there will be two ways to discover titles that are not yet in our collections:
Starting March 21, patrons can use Deep Search & Notify Me tags in Libby to let libraries know about content they would like to see that is not yet offered. New features coming to Libby from OverDrive
